Transforming Our Local Community
Touring the signature buildings in Winnipeg, Manitoba is like taking a trip through our history and a glimpse into our future. Over our 60-plus years living, building and designing in this community, we’ve grown along with our headquarters' city. Since 1947, our founding vision of an integrated architecture and engineering firm has remained at the core of our mission while the city developed along with the trends and events of the times.
As our firm expanded from a regional focus to an international leader in the design and engineering of the world’s most technically complex buildings – and became the largest locally based integrated architecture and engineering firm – we’ve brought this perspective home to share global best practices with our local clients.
In fact, our wide ranging expertise and more than six decades here have enabled us to understand the people, the climate, and the economy so that we can build spaces that best reflect and support them. Visit the Gallery and Our History pages within this site to see some of the outstanding results.
Our award-winning headquarters, SC3 on Buffalo Place demonstrates our commitment to sustainable design initiatives, integrated practice, and innovation. SC3 received LEED® Platinum certification in 2009. We bring this level of expertise and assurance to our clients who are increasingly requesting the highest standard of sustainability in the design, construction and operations of their facilities.
Smith Carter enjoys long-standing relationships with our clients and the community and we are actively involved with many organizations.
