Welcome to our new micro-site featuring some of Smith Carter’s work in the area of sustainability. We realize that the concept of sustainability is certainly not new, and, in fact, should really just be considered a way of doing business for a good majority of the architectural and engineering companies today. So, why create a site dedicated to a philosophy that should be almost transparent in the delivery of architectural and engineering services? Well, we like to think that we are a little further ahead in the pursuit of knowledge related to sustainable buildings. We ‘live’ in our own LEED® platinum certified facility and we are working with some extremely forward thinking clients. These experiences have allowed us to collect data, amass lessons learned, and document our findings. This site is set up to allow you a little closer look at this data and hopefully provide some insight into the benefits, economically, socially, and environmentally, of a ‘green’ building.
