Smith Carter is a true multi-disciplinary integrated design practice, and SC3 is a showcase of the abilities of our architectural and engineering personnel. Energy efficiency, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as well as elimination of ozone depleting substances, are key design features. Through integrated architectural and engineering design strategies, all disciplines collaborated to implement measures such as geothermal heating and cooling, extensive natural daylighting, provision of a premium building envelope, and a building orientation that optimizes natural features of the site with passive environmental opportunities.
