Job Description
ELECTRICAL and MECHANICAL ENGINEERS – Lorton, Virginia
Well-established architectural-engineering firm seeks Electrical and Mechanical Engineers for the design of commercial, governmental, institutional, and laboratory facilities. Job requirements include the ability to advise and assist clients during the design and construction of various projects; from the initiation to finish. Travel is required as field survey of projects is located internationally. Experience should include the ability to design and document viable science and technology project, primarily laboratory projects, including the ability to review construction phase service deliverables. Job requirements include the ability to write comprehensive reports and basis of design documents.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- More than 5 years with an A/E firm
- Evaluating and quantifying existing facilities systems
- Developing Project schedules and resolving technical issues.
- Perform specific project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates and specifications, respond to client questions and perform construction administration tasks.
- Coordinate with other disciplines.
- Efficient in Word, Excel, Power Point and AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- US Citizen
- Professional Engineering registration (PE) or within one-year of obtaining registration
- Mechanical Engineering Requirements: Experience in the design of mechanical systems, coordinate the overall engineered systems design with all disciplines and oversee the completion of mechanical design documents. Candidate will be expected to take an active role in the design and layout of complex aspects of ventilation, piping and control systems.
- Electrical Engineering Requirements: Design of building (existing and new) power, grounding, lighting, communication and security systems. Thorough understanding of commercial building power distribution and lighting systems, NEC and building codes.
